Itinerary
Day 1: Cochin-Thekkady (By Road-170 Kilometres) Sightseeing
Upon arrival the Cochin International Airport or Railway Station, meet our representative, after welcome, you will get transferred to Thekkady/Periyar. Thekkady is the small village located in the Idukki district in the state of Kerala. This place is renowned for largest and one of the oldest wildlife sanctuary ‘Periyar National Park’, which is the most popular tourist destination of Kerala. Thekkaddy offers the various trails of hills along with the picturesque environment along with the exotic aroma of spices spread across the region.
On arrival, check into the hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure activities. Overnight stay.
Day 2: Thekkady Sightseeing
Today after breakfast, proceed for wildlife safari into the Periyar National Park. The sanctuary is surrounded with dense forest and grass lands. It is home of Indian tigers, elephants, lion tailed macaques, gaurs, deer, sambars apart from this 45 species of reptiles , 30 species of snakes, 13 lizard species. Enjoy boat ride on the Periyar Lake. While boating you may also spot wild boar, deer, monkeys, elephant, and various other species
Post lunch, cover the spice plantations. After exploring the Periyar National Park, return back to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3: Thekkady-Kumarakom (By Road-130 Kilometres) Sightseeing
Post breakfast, proceed to Kumarakom by road. Kumarakom is the one of the most popular tourist destination in Kerala. It is renowned for backwater, located on the Vembanad Lake, which is the largest lake of fresh water. The backwater fishing village is indeed a haven, and has had its attractions advertised by some stunning top end resorts by the side of Vembanad Lake.
En-route enjoy the breath taking lush green surroundings. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and spend rest of the day in leisure. In the evening enjoy sunset while on a cruise in the lake. Overnight stay in Kumarakom.
Day 4: Kumarakom Sightseeing
Today early morning enjoy bird watching at the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, Protected by a thick cluster of mangroves, the bird sanctuary spread across 14 acres and home to over 180 species of birds. It is best to visit on foot by one and half kilometres on walking trek, where you are likely to spot heron, darters, water duck, waterfowl, owl, cuckoo and Siberian cranes. It is one of the most popular tourist attraction of the town. Spot some most exotic and beautiful avifauna species.
After breakfast, proceed to visit the farmhouse. Enjoy leisure activities there. Return to the hotel for a night stay.
Day 5: Kumarakom-Alleppey (By Road-30 Kilometres) Sightseeing
After having breakfast, drive to Alleppey. Alleppey is also known as Alappuzha. It is one of the oldest planned city of the kerala, located about 75 kilometres away from Kochi and about 155 kilometres from Trivandrum. It is one of the popular tourist destination of India. It is famous for backwaters. There are at least six navigable canals in the town. In the east they open to the backwater connecting the city to the mesh of backwater trials, which are abuzz with reinvented kettuvalloms (houseboats).
En-route enjoy the view of coconut palm groves, a popular attraction. Once you reach there, check into the resort. Spend the day in doing leisure activities. Overnight stay.
Day 6: Alleppey
Breakfast at hotel, rest day is free at leisure, explore the beautiful backwater and surroundings. Overnight stay at the resort.
Day 7: Alleppey-Cochin (By Road-80 Kilometres) Sightseeing
After breakfast, begin your road journey towards Cochin. Once you arrive proceed to the hotel. Kochi is one of the most important city of Kerala which is also known as Cochin Located on the south-west coast in Kerala which is also known as the Gateway to Kerala, situated on the Arabian Sea. Kochi is one of the most beautiful city of the state of Kerala.
On arrival at your pre-booked hotel. Check in to the hotel. Rest for a while. Post lunch, proceed for a half day sightseeing covering the places such as Bolgatty Palace, Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue and Chinese fishing nets and spice market. In the evening, enjoy the Kathakali dance performance. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 8: Departure from Cochin
